Finally back in business with a personal project. It has been a long time since I finished “What Will Never Be” which was quite a different type of image for me. So, I’m back to a project that I left hanging far too long since last year, I’m still undecided to put it together in Unreal editor or just go for more hyper realism in Maya, I still have time to decide…
Sorry I didn’t post any lighting wip images; I just went straight to texturing and rendering, anyways, I hope you enjoy this one, I wanted to make something that meant something. It was inspired after a discussion with some friends, I think it turned out very creepy and gruesome and the topic…well, you come up with your own conclusions.
I have started to put the scene together even though I’m not done modeling assets. I wanted to see how the main characters were jiving and wanted to “lock down” the camera angle to see how it was working. I do like where this is headed, the low res girl is FPO (for placement only) so never mind her feet sticking out. I’m gonna make this creepier by placing dead bodies in the water.
Wayne Robson, autodesk’s first Mudbox Master will be releasing his DVD training library for free. Check it out at his blog and make sure you thank him for such a generous contribution to the CG community.
Here is character 2 of 2, I started from a base mesh I found at ZBrush central, lmc if I can find who made the base mesh to give him/her credit. Once opened in ZBrush I deleted the high level subdivisions in order to really start from the base and not be influenced by the original details. I used James Busby’s female model and my anatomy books for reference. This still needs to be polished, sculpt the ears, add muscles, tendons and fleshy tissue to the hands and feet. I feel like this is a good starting point.
woop woop, here we go again with another personal project. This one will be very creepy but with a strong message or at least that’s what I hope the outcome will be. The idea was sparked over a conversation I had with a friend about a controversial issue. Will not be so literal so let’s see how it turns out. Here is the beginning of character 1 of 2 that will be in the image.
