It was about time I updated the site with this image. I actually finished it last February; it was printed in 3D Artist Magazine #67, can’t see the details very well cause it was printed small but it was printed and that to me is a win You can see the details here better and even then you miss a lot, all those details in the buildings were painstakingly modeled by hand, nothing modeled proceduraly. Time for a new project.
Here is a ship which I call Donny (After Donnager from the novel Leviathan Wakes) Some things left to do, the bridge area, some minor details here and there and then on to texturing or perhaps model other props for the final image. Regardless, I’ll be using this ship in other images and that’s really the reason I went crazy modeling details.
Finally back in business with a personal project. It has been a long time since I finished “What Will Never Be” which was quite a different type of image for me. So, I’m back to a project that I left hanging far too long since last year, I’m still undecided to put it together in Unreal editor or just go for more hyper realism in Maya, I still have time to decide…
Sorry I didn’t post any lighting wip images; I just went straight to texturing and rendering, anyways, I hope you enjoy this one, I wanted to make something that meant something. It was inspired after a discussion with some friends, I think it turned out very creepy and gruesome and the topic…well, you come up with your own conclusions.
I have started to put the scene together even though I’m not done modeling assets. I wanted to see how the main characters were jiving and wanted to “lock down” the camera angle to see how it was working. I do like where this is headed, the low res girl is FPO (for placement only) so never mind her feet sticking out. I’m gonna make this creepier by placing dead bodies in the water.
